On Saturday, September 6, the Walter Camp Foundation will host its annual “Kickoff Tailgater and Pig Roast Barb-b-Que” at The River House Tavern (61 State Street) in North Haven. The event, sponsored Underwater Construction Corp., will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30 and includes food and beverages. There will be live music and entertainment and college football on the big screen. Please call (203) 710-4235 to reserve your tickets.
Florida State sophomore quarterback Jameis Winston, the 2013 Walter Camp Player of the Year, headlines the 50-player 2014 Walter Camp Player of the Year preseason Watch List. The watch list is part of the National College Football Awards Association (www.ncfaa.org) effort to kick off the college football season.
