Thank you for another great Walter Camp Weekend – the 50th held by the Foundation.
As part of its 50th annual Weekend festivities, the Walter Camp Football Foundation will host its tenth High School “Breakfast of Champions” on Saturday, January 14 at The Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. The event starts at 8:30 a.m.
Eastern Washington senior wide receiver Cooper Kupp headlines the 2016 Walter Camp Football Championship Subdivision All-America team. The team was selected by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Football Championship Subdivision schools and certified by the accounting and auditing firm, Marcum LLP.
University of Connecticut senior wide receiver Noel Thomas (Norwalk, CT) has been selected the Walter Camp 2016 Connecticut Player of the Year. The award is presented to the top college football player who is a resident and/or played scholastically in the state of Connecticut. The award is voted on by the Walter Camp Football Foundation membership.
The Darien Blue Wave, the Class LL state champion and consensus No. 1 team in the state’s high school football season-ending polls, is the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s choice to receive the 2016 Joseph W. Kelly Award. The Kelly Award is presented annually to Connecticut’s top high school football team.

Top-ranked Alabama and third-ranked Ohio State each have five players on the 2016 Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Teams, the 127th honored by the organization. The nation’s oldest All-America squad was announced this evening on The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards Show.
University of Louisville sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson (Pompano Beach, Fla.) has been selected as the 2016 Walter Camp Player of the Year. The Walter Camp Player of the Year is voted on by the nation’s 129 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
Mike MacIntyre, head coach of the University of Colorado Buffaloes, has been named the Walter Camp 2016 Coach of the Year. The Walter Camp Coach of the Year is selected by the nation’s 129 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
