Purdue RB D.J. Knox and Houston LB Austin Robinson Named Walter Camp National FBS Players of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN
The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced the Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN, for games ending October 20.
About the Award: This is the 15th year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
D.J. KNOX, PURDUE
5th Year, Running Back, Fairburn, GA/Creekside
D.J. Knox rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns as Purdue took down second-ranked Ohio State, 49-20. Knox scored on runs of 1, 42 and 40 yards as the Boilermakers’ recorded their biggest upset since 1984. With the victory, Purdue improved to 4-3, 3-1 in the Big Ten Conference.
Notes: D.J. Knox is the fifth Boilermaker to receive Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004, and the first since defensive tackle Kawann Short (Nov. 13, 2011).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AUSTIN ROBINSON, HOUSTON

Austin Robinson recorded a career-high 21 tackles (11 solo), including 4.5 for losses, and two quarterback sacks, as Houston defeated Navy, 49-36. With the victory, the Cougars improved to 6-1, 3-0 in the American Athletic Conference.

Walter Camp, “The Father of American football,” first selected an All-America team in 1889. Camp – a former Yale University athlete and football coach – is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side.
