Florida QB Kyle Trask and Indiana LB Micah McFadden Named Walter Camp FBS Players of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN

The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced the Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, presented by Generation UCAN, for games ending December 5.

About the Award: This is the 17th year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.



Redshirt Senior, Quarterback, Manvel, TX/ Manvel

Kyle Trask passed for 433 yards (35-of-49) and four touchdowns as sixth-ranked Florida defeated Tennessee, 31-19.  Trask threw scoring passes of 4, 2, 8 and 12 yards as the Gators clinched the SEC East Division regular-season title.

Notes: Kyle Trak is the 11th Florida player to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004, and the first since defensive end Jonathan Greenard (Nov. 17, 2019).



Junior, Linebacker, Tampa, FL/Plant

Micah McFadden registered nine tackles (6 solo), including two for losses, and two quarterback sacks as 12th-ranked Indiana (6-1) defeated 16th-ranked Wisconsin, 14-6.  It was Indiana’s first win at Wisconsin’s Camp Randall Stadium since 2001.

Notes: Micah McFadden is the first Indiana player to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since the award began in 2004.

Walter Camp, “The Father of American football,” first selected an All-America team in 1889. Camp – a former Yale University athlete and football coach – is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side.
