2013 Stay in School Rally

2013 Stay in School Rally

Thursday: Jan 15, 2015

  • “Stay in School” Rally, sponsored by First Niagara Bank
    • Over 2,000 middle school age children from area communities participate in a special program featuring Walter Camp celebrities who preach the “Don’t drop out, stay in school theme.”  The speakers anchor a high energy program that encourages the youth to apply themselves and reap the benefits of excelling in their scholarship efforts. SITE: Floyd Little Athletic Center, New Haven, CT
  • Players visit Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
    • The All-American Athletes, Professional Football Players and other award winners make a special visit to several hospitals.  The focus is upon visiting the sick and shut-in children.  The Walter Campers bring gifts, shake hands, sign autographs and pose for unique pictures with the patients.  Our healthy athletes and honorees take a tremendous amount of pride in being able to bring special (and too often rare) moments of tremendous joy to these infirmed individuals.  They often note that they get more out of these visits than the youngsters with which they visit.
