41st Walter Camp Weekend and Annual Awards Dinner

The 41st annual Walter Camp Weekend will take place January 10-12, 2008 in New Haven – the birthplace of Walter Camp, "the father of American football."

Some of the finest college football players in the nation along with some special guests will be in New Haven for some special events hosted by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

On Thursday, January 10, the Foundation will host its annual "Stay in School" rally at East Haven High School. Various middle-school aged children from surrounding area towns will attend. Festivities, with guest speakers and performances, will start at 10:00 a.m. Also on Thursday, the Walter Camp "Official Party" will be held at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are now sold out for the event.

On Friday, January 11, there will be an interactive Fan Fest and Carnival at the New Haven Athletic Center (480 Sherman Parkway) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 and will available at the door. Later that evening at Hula Hanks Island Bar will be the “Official Walter Camp Players Party.” Tickets are $10.00 in advance at Hula Hanks or calling (203) 789-0677. Tickets will be $15 at the door that evening.

On Saturday evening, the 41st annual black-tie national awards dinner will occur at the Yale Commons (5:00 p.m.). Tickets ($275) are available in advance by calling (203) 288-CAMP. Following the dinner, there will be after-party at The Bar on Crown Street.
