Walter Camp Football Foundation Will Host High School “Breakfast of Champions” on January 17
New Haven, CT – As part of its 48th annual Weekend festivities, the Walter Camp Football Foundation will host a High School “Breakfast of Champions” on Saturday, January 17 at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven. The event will start at 9 a.m.
Boston College’s Tyler Murphy Named 2014 Walter Camp “Connecticut Player of the Year”
NEW HAVEN, CT – Former Wethersfield High School standout Tyler Murphy, a graduate quarterback from Boston College, has been named by the Walter Camp Football Foundation as its 2014 “Connecticut Player of the Year.”
TCU’s Gary Patterson Named Walter Camp 2014 Coach of the Year
NEW HAVEN, CT – Gary Patterson, head coach of the TCU Horned Frogs, has been named the Walter Camp 2014 Coach of the Year. The Walter Camp Coach of the Year is selected by the nation’s 125 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors. Patterson, who also won the award in 2009, joins Joe Paterno (Penn State: 1972, 1994 and 2005) and Bob Stoops (Oklahoma: 2000 and 2003) as multiple winners of the Walter Camp Coach of the Year honor.
Southington High School Named “Joseph Kelly” Award Winner
New Haven, CT – The Southington Blue Knights, the No. 1 team in the state’s high school football season-ending polls, is the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s choice to receive the Joseph W. Kelly Award, which is awarded annually to Connecticut’s top high school football team.
2014 Walter Camp FCS All-America Team
NEW HAVEN, CT – Three-time selection Zach Zenner (South Dakota State) headlines Walter Camp’s 2014 Football Championship Subdivision All-America team. The team was selected by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Football Championship Subdivision schools and certified by the accounting and auditing firm, Marcum LLP.
2014 Walter Camp All-America Notebook
This is the 125th edition of the Walter Camp All-America team – the nation’s oldest All-America team. Twenty-six players have been selected to the first team by the 125 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors. In addition, 25 players have been selected to the Second Team.
