University of Alabama junior running back Derrick Henry (Yulee, Fla.) has been selected as the 2015 Walter Camp Player of the Year. The Walter Camp Player of the Year is voted on by the nation’s 129 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.

Temple University Linebacker Tyler Matakevich Selected Walter Camp Connecticut Player of the Year
Former St. Joseph High School standout Tyler Matakevich, a senior linebacker from Temple University, has been named by the Walter Camp Football Foundation as its 2015 “Connecticut Player of the Year.” Awarded annually to the top college football player who is a resident and/or played scholastically in the state of Connecticut, the Connecticut Player of the Year is selected by the all-volunteer membership of the Walter Camp Foundation.
Five are Finalists for Walter Camp 2015 Player of the Year Award
Two running backs, two quarterbacks and one defensive back comprise the list of five finalists for the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2015 Player of the Year award. Running backs Derrick Henry (Alabama) and Christian McCaffrey (Stanford) are finalists along with quarterbacks Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) and Deshaun Watson (Clemson). Defensive back Desmond King (Iowa) rounds out the list.
