2017 Walter Camp High School All-Connecticut Teams Announced; 11th Annual Breakfast of Champions is January 13
As part of its 51st annual Weekend festivities, the Walter Camp Football Foundation will host its 11th High School “Breakfast of Champions,” presented by Town Fair Tire and NFP Sports, on Saturday, January 13 at The Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. The event starts at 8:30 a.m.
Syracuse University WR and West Haven resident Ervin Philips Named Walter Camp Connecticut Player of the Year
Syracuse University senior wide receiver Ervin Philips (West Haven, CT) has been selected the Walter Camp 2017 Connecticut Player of the Year. The award is presented to the top college football player who is a resident and/or played scholastically in the state of Connecticut. The award is voted on by the Walter Camp Football Foundation membership.
2017 Walter Camp All-America First and Second Teams
Led by 2017 Player of the Year Baker Mayfield, second-ranked Oklahoma has four players on the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Teams, the 128th honored by the organization. The nation’s oldest All-America squad was announced this evening on The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards Show.

University of Oklahoma redshirt senior quarterback Baker Mayfield (Austin, TX) has been selected as the 2017 Walter Camp Player of the Year. The Walter Camp Player of the Year is voted on by the nation’s 130 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
Miami’s Mark Richt Named 2017 Walter Camp Coach of the Year
Mark Richt, head coach of the University of Miami Hurricanes, has been named the Walter Camp 2017 Coach of the Year. The Walter Camp Coach of the Year is selected by the nation’s 130 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.
